Micheluzzi Glass
Riccio Oceano Vase
USD 880
Ships in 1 weekThe melted glass is first blown in the heat of the furnace and shaped into a round vase with a small opening. Once solid, the glass is cold carved to produce the linear cuts which mark its surface reminding us of the shell of a sea urchin – called Riccio in Italian. This technique is the "molatura" technique and takes its name from the grinding wheel used to carve the cold glass, which in Italian is called “Mola”.
