The Bedroom Concept
Inspired by the glamour of 1960s Italian cinema, Champalimaud Design envisioned The Bedroom as a sensuous and playful retreat where friends gather before and after a night out—an intimate homage to La Dolce Vita within the opulent Palazzo Donizetti.
A striking cylindrical chandelier of hand-crafted ivory majolica illuminates twin rugs in deep terracotta and soft sunset hues. Venetian mirrors, gilded artworks, and cloudlike sofas set the scene, while a whimsical ostrich sculpture conceals a lacquered bar filled with silver wine glasses and engraved crystal bottles. The vanity room’s cinematic charm flows into the elegant bedroom, where a modernist bed contrasts against a hand-painted wallcovering of citrus trees. A sinuous orange velvet sofa, a silver-coated stool, and a marble-painted chair blend sculptural elements with effortless chic.
Adding a moment of quiet sophistication, the terrace transforms into a refined study with a green lacquer desk and ethereal three-dimensional artworks, capturing the essence of Italian allure.
