The idea and genesis of FOS products encompasses creative thinking, innovative challenge and quality control, balancing art, craftsmanship and design.

FOS Ceramiche is an art and design manufactory established in 1987 in Faenza. Since the 13th century, the city has developed a unique sensibility and attention to ceramic art, becoming synonymous with majolica ("faience" indicates worldwide glazed earthenware). Here Piero Mazzotti and Andri Ioannou met, founding a ceramic workshop that, before being "Made in Italy," is proudly "Made in Faenza."

In more than thirty-five years of activity, FOS (an acronym for Form - Object - Surface) has treasured an unparalleled technological heritage in working with porcelain, noble material whose aesthetic and technical qualities are incomparable. The purity of white is combined with hardness, translucency and impermeability, achieved through high firing temperature, making it the most valuable of ceramic materials.

The long and meticulous preparation of the models allows one to appreciate, on the finished product, the precision in detail of unglazed porcelain, also known as biscuit, the stylistic hallmark of the manufacture.

The shapes and textures, which draw heavily from the natural world, are enhanced by the smooth, sculpted whiteness, which the light enlivens, giving rise to a wide range of white shades.

This whiteness is sometimes tinged with unique colorations thanks to the skillful use of oxides, at other times with precious metals such as gold and platinum, meticulously applied by hand and fixed with an additional firing process.

In addition to vases, bowls and centerpieces, more ambitious projects related to sculpture and wall installations stand out. Relentless attention to detail, a desire to amaze, the ambivalence of a mass-produced product manipulated in order to narrate age-old techniques by means of a contemporary language. FOS creates objects that do not go unnoticed, for interiors with an exclusive and elegant character.
