Car&Vintage x Artemest at Milan Design Week

A Courtyard Alive with Stories and Renewal

During Milan Design Week, the worlds of design, craftsmanship, and innovation converge to spark new ideas and perspectives. This year, Artemest and Car&Vintage join forces to create an immersive installation that celebrates the intersection of timeless elegance and contemporary creativity.

Nestled within the historic Palazzo Donizetti, the courtyard of L’Appartamento by Artemest is transformed into a living narrative—an intimate, poetic space where past and future meet. Traditionally a quiet Milanese retreat, the courtyard becomes a stage for beauty, renewal, and connection, as if inhabited by a gracious host welcoming the world in celebration of design’s magic. But this is more than just a passageway—it is a seamless extension of the thoughtfully curated interiors of L’Appartamento by Artemest, envisioned by leading international design studios. Here, a passion for art, heritage, and innovation unfolds through carefully chosen details, each telling its own story.

At the heart of this vision stands an iconic Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 from 1987, reimagined as an unexpected centerpiece. A symbol of enduring style and dynamic energy, the car is transformed into a sculptural installation, adorned with delicate pink blooms that seem to burst from its engine, as if nature itself were reclaiming design in a poetic dance of rebirth.

This striking fusion of automotive artistry and organic beauty is more than a visual spectacle—it is a metaphor for Milan’s own transformation during Salone del Mobile. Each year, the city awakens, embracing new collaborations, bold ideas, and a spirit of reinvention that echoes the arrival of spring.

Beyond the installation, Artemest and Car&Vintage will also host a series of exclusive conversations, exploring the deep connections between design, architecture, and the automotive world. These talks bring together industry experts, designers, and visionaries, fostering a dialogue on proportion, materiality, and the timeless art of savoir-faire.

The Swiss Maison TAG Heuer, that this year is back in Formula 1 as Official Timekeeper, will be the watch partner of these talks. In show two iconic chronographs from the Monaco and Carrera collections in their original and contemporary version, whose groundbreaking designs are rooted and inspired by motor racing codes. The Heritage Director of TAG Heuer Nicholas Biebuyck will be one of the spokespersons of the Friday panel.

In the end, the courtyard at Palazzo Donizetti becomes a portal between eras, disciplines, and emotions. It is a celebration of art, innovation, and the beauty that emerges when diverse creative worlds collide. A poetic journey that invites visitors to experience Milan’s beating heart, where history, craftsmanship, and modernity intertwine to shape the future of design.
